SANWA PLANS FIRST JAPANESE TELEPHONE BANKING SERVICE

One of Japan’s largest banks, Sanwa Bank is developing the country’s first telephone banking service using a computer that can recognize a customer’s voice. The Financial Times says the bank aims to use the computers to run high security checks to provide a 24-hour automatic telephone banking service.
