Santa Cruz Operation Inc denies at the highest level that there is any truth to gossip that it has been peddling itself to SunSoft Inc recently: the two are simply co-operating more closely on technology these days. Santa Cruz heads up the Common Open Software Environment systems management workgroup and it is understood that SunSoft boss Ed Zander has intervened to ensure that his lieutenants offer Santa Cruz attractive terms for licensing its Common Desktop Environment implementation, a deal, it is said, that Zander would love to cut.
