Sandnes Sparebank extends EDB banking services contract

Norwegian bank Sandnes Sparebank has signed a five-year, NOK120 million contract with EDB Business Partner. EDB will be responsible for operating the bank's self-service, branch office and core systems, as well as providing routine services for the operation and maintenance of its existing banking system.

The agreement also calls for new applications to improve the efficiency of the bank’s business processes.

EDB says its involvement with Sandes Sparebank has helped drive its product development. The new contract with Sandnes Sparebank runs to December 31, 2010. It replaces the current agreement, which originally ran to December 31, 2005.

This contract will pave the way for the bank’s further development in future years, commented Arve Vestvik, director of business development at Sandnes Sparebank.
