SanDisk Corp, the Sunnyvale, California based firm currently vying with Intel Corp over new developments in Flash Memory, has followed its Eastman Kodak Co licensing deal with a new one from Casio Inc, which claims to be the world’s largest supplier of digital cameras. Casio will be using SanDisks 2Mb removable CompactFlash cards as the digital film for its new QV-700 camera to replace the internal memory used in earlier models. The cards, which are reusable, store 14 images at the highest resolution, or up to 47 lower quality images, which can then be downloaded to a personal computer. Casio will re-label the CompactFlash cards, and also offer higher capacity 10Mb and 15Mb cards, which can store up to 363 pictures. The QV-700 costs $600.
