The two companies plan to develop and market bidding/auction/logistics solutions based on Oracle’s e-business solutions for purchasing and procurement. The new solution has the advantage in that it is compatible with and can be expanded into the Oracle platform.

Through the strategic alliance, the two companies plan to focus their marketing on the top 200 companies in Korea that are in the process of constructing their e-business platform. Operations would expand to a wide spectrum of industries, including manufacturing, financial, government/public sector and logistics.

Furthermore, Samsung SDS and Oracle Korea have agreed to secure and develop new solutions in addition to the planned development of the e-business solution, in order to introduce various compatible solution packages in both the domestic and overseas markets. As such, the two companies plan to enter Southeast Asian market by utilizing their existing overseas branch offices. At the same time, the two companies are preparing joint road shows for regional cities in Korea to expand their new business opportunities. The two companies would share and accumulate new technology and experience with their products.

He praised the relationship as going a step further than conventional strategic partnerships, where cooperation was limited to overseas sales activities. He added that this is an introduction of a new business model and that the two companies would seek a continual and long-term strategic relationship.
