Samsung Electronics America has launched the MultiXpress SCX-6545N, a new network-ready monochrome multifunction laser copier with the capability of printing up to 45 ppm (pages per minute).
The new laser copier is designed for medium-to-large size workplaces that require high volume printing. It is capable of printing up to 40 ppm even in duplex printing mode, the company claims.
Samsung said that the new laser copier features a 7-inch colour wide LCD touch screen and intuitive user interface design. It comes with 500MHz CPU, 256MB of memory (expandable to 512MB) and a 80GB hard drive.
In addition, its paper handling capacity can be expanded from 520 to 3,240 sheets, and the new 2-bin finisher and 4-bin mailbox provide paper sorting, collating and stacking mode functionality. The scan to anywhere functionality helps to distribute documents by scanning directly to email, FTP, SMB or client.
The company said that IT managers can remotely monitor and manage the performance of the new laser copier in real-time with additional applications including SyncThru Admin 5 and web services. With user authentication, the company adds an additional layer of security to protect information in a shared workgroup environment. The new laser copier is priced at $4,999.
