SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS DEVELOPS SDRAM WITH DDR OPTION

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has developed a 128Mb double data rate synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) chip. The company says that the new chip processes data at 266MHz – that’s 26 million characters per second. The chip can operate using a 100MHz or 133MHz memory bus. The company expects to start supplying the new SDRAMs in the second half of 1999.
