Samsung has unveiled Samsung Z1, the company’s first smartphone featuring its own Tizen operating system in India.

The Z1 is expected to have faster boot time, enhanced web performance which is likely to reduce data usage and is expected to provide quick access to apps.

The phone is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 768 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card.

The smartphone is powered by 1500mAh battery which is capable of providing up to 8 hours of talk time, and with the ‘Ultra Power Saving Mode’ the phone will remain operational for longer time.

Z1 has 4" WVGA PLS screen, and 3.1 megapixel rear camera along with a VGA front camera with auto face detect feature which is apt for selfies.

The South Korean smartphone maker is also planning to launch a free entertainment package called ‘Joy Box’, which will give users access to music, TV and movies.

The handset is available in India for INR 5,700 ($91) starting today.
