Samsung will reportedly release a smaller version of its Android smartphone Galaxy S, called the S5830, at the forthcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February.

The phone, likely to named Galaxy Ace of Galaxy Mini, will run on Android 2.2.1 and feature a 3.2-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 320×480 pixels.

The South Korean electronics maker’s new phone is being touted as the equivalent of the Taiwanese phone maker HTC’s smartphone Wildfire, but cheaper. The phone’s screen size is same as that of Samsung Galaxy Player.

Mobile phone enthusiasts have also compared it to the iPhone 4 primarily because of the handset’s rounded edges and bevelled façade.

The S5830, which can record HD ready video footage, will also include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.
