Samsung Electronics has filed a lawsuit against Apple in South Korea, accusing the California-based company of violating three of its patents in its iPhone 4S and iPad 2 devices.

Samsung Electronics, in an emailed statement, said this lawsuit is separate from the proceedings filed against Apple in Seoul in April 2011 regarding infringement of telecommunications standards-related patents.

The patents relate to methods of displaying data, the user interface and short text messages, according to the Reuters.

Both the companies have been at loggerheads with each other in 30 cases in 10 countries after Apple accused Samsung of ‘slavishly’ copying its iPhones and iPads.
