South Korean electronics maker Samsung revealed that it has no plans to settle patent infringement disputes with US based Apple, as is has done with HTC.
Involved in various patent lawsuits around the world, both firms have accused each other of violating copyrights on patented designs and technology.
Refusal to settle the dispute with its rival leaves the company to fight the battle through legal means than settling the issue out of court.
Samsung mobile and IT division head Shin Jong-kyun was quoted by Yonhap News as saying: "It may be true that HTC may have agreed to pay 300 billion won (US$276 million) to Apple, but we don’t intend to (negotiate) at all."
Recently, HTC and Apple have settled their long running patent disputes, marking the end of a conflict that started in March 2010 and have also signed a 10-year licensing agreement that allows them to use their existing and future patents.
In August, Samsung lost a US patent lawsuit against Apple and was ordered to pay $1.05bn in damages for infringing features of the rival’s iPad and iPhone in its Galaxy devices.
Another case in the UK ruled that Samsung had not infringed Apple’s iPad when designing its Galaxy devices and ordered Apple to publish an apology.

Apple had won some patent disputes against Samsung in Germany while lost some of them in Japan and the Netherlands, with further lawsuits expected to follow.
