Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with Ice Cream Sandwich to hit UK markets first

Would be available in both 3G and Wi-Fi-only models

By CBR Staff Writer

Samsung has announced that the new Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) with Ice Cream Sandwich will first be launched in the UK in March.

To be available in both 3G and Wi-Fi-only models, it would have a 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, besides a 3-megapixel camera on the rear and a front VGA camera for video calls.

It would sport a 7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1024×600, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, HSPA+ support (up to 21 mbps) and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity.

It would be made available with 8, 16 and 32GB models, where each can be upgraded with a microSD card of up to 32GB.

Samsung’s UK and Ireland telecommunications and networks division managing director Simon Stanford said Samsung has actively worked to enhance and extend its tablet offering since the launch of the original Galaxy Tab 18 months ago, to put Samsung in the position it is in today of being able to offer our customers a portfolio of devices of varying sizes relative to their different needs.

The pricing of the tablet is yet to be announced.
