Curved screen variant could also be on the cards.

By CBR Staff Writer

Samsung has not officially announced the release date of its upcoming flagship Galaxy S6, but according to reports, the company is planning to unveil the phone at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show to be held between January 6 and 9 in Las Vegas.

GSM Arena cited Chosun Biz as reporting that the company might also launch a curved screen variant of the phone alongside the Galaxy S6.

The phone is expected to have a HD 5.5-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels, and feature octa-core 64-bit processor.

It is likely to feature 3GB of RAM, and 32GB internal storage with a 20-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.

According to Korea-based Mirae Asset Securities (MAS) analysts, the company might be planning to sell a total of around 45 million units of the Galaxy S6, out of which 10 million units will be covered by the Edge variant.
