Computer Associates, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and the GSA, among others, used the RSA Conference in San Francisco, California, to demonstrate internet-based single sign-on and single logout scenarios based on Security Authentication Mark-up Language (SAML) 2.0.
The SAML specification, ratified by the Organization for Structured Information Standards (OASIS) provides for secure exchange of authentication and attributes, used for authorization of information exchange between domains. The E-Gov E-Authentication Initiative is a Whitehouse program to provide a secure authentication architecture for government.
