The two-year old Yahoo community has 360 members and around 100 messages are posted per month. Founder and Salesforce.com user Pete Fife, senior business analyst at Fortinet said that managing the community was taking increasing amounts of time so when Salesforce.com came to him with the suggestion that it provided an area for the community he agreed. It was unclear whether the independent Yahoo group would continue.

The application forum complements the existing Salesforce.com-hosted sforce development forum.

The community, which can be accessed via www.crmsuccess.com, is one of a series of initiatives aimed at helping customers get the most out of the software and sforce development platform.

The company also offers customers ongoing one-to-one access to customer success managers who can advise customers on how to best use and develop their service. It has also launched a portal to enable access to best practice from the user community.
