The two contracts, which have a total estimated value of $75.8 million, will run simultaneously and are expected to be completed by October 16, 2008.
The Program Executive Office, Command, Control and Communications Systems (PEO C3S) located at Ft. Monmouth, N.J., is the joint services executive agent for JNMS, and the U.S. Army Communication-Electronics Command (CECOM), also located at Ft. Monmouth, N. J., is the acquisition activity.
The JNMS as proposed by SAIC will enable military warfighters to plan and manage the diverse array of legacy and advanced information technologies and telecommunication systems throughout the joint battlespace, focusing on the Joint Task Force (JTF) backbone, across military and commercial satellite systems and service-unique tactical systems. Of critical importance, JNMS will enable the Commander-in-Chiefs (CINCs) and the Commander, Joint Forces (CJF) to gain decisive information and maintain dominance in an increasingly network-centric battlefield environment.
Our SAIC team proposed a platform-independent software solution optimized for the joint and separate service-specific hardware and operating system environments, said Rudy Rudewick, SAIC senior vice president for corporate development Working side by side with the government, SAIC will deliver a JNMS that manages the converged voice, video and data network that traverses tomorrow’s complex battlefield.
The winning SAIC team is comprised of Telcordia Technologies, a wholly owned SAIC subsidiary located in Morristown, N.J.; TRW, which is headquartered in Carson, Calif.; DynCorp of Reston, Va.; LMGT (COMSAT) of Clarksburg, Md.; TEI of Severna Park, Md.; Solers of Arlington, Va.; INS, located in Ivyland, Pa.; Lucille Maud of Trenton, N.J.; and Arrowhead of Falls Church, Va.
