After losing out in the battle for Compsoft Plc’s listed status, Sagesoft Plc is likely to come to the market in January next year by way of a placing handled by Panmure Gordon; for its financial year which finishes next week, Sagesoft is expecting to report pre-tax profits nearly doubled at UKP1.2m on turnover up 50% at UKP3.4m; the company’s prospects will be further boosted by yesterday’s launch of a UKP149 per workstation IBM NetBIOS-compatible network package; the SageNet starter package at UKP299 includes two network boards, a 5 yard cable, manual and disk and each extension pack with one board and cable costs UKP149; up to 63 workstations can be cabled together at up to 200 feet apart; Sagesoft has already taken UKP250,000 worth of orders for 1M-bit-per-second SageNet, developed by Alfa Systems Ltd, which requires MS-DOS 2.0 or above.
