The Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK company is not commenting, but Sunday Business expects accounting software specialist Sage Group Plc to acquire KHK Software GmbH of Franfurt. Described as the leading financial software business in Germany. KHK has apparently been shopping itself around for two years now. It generated operating profit of 2.5m pounds on sales of 29m pounds last year, but the owners are expected to be prepared to sell out for about 25m pounds. Sage has established itself on the US market by acquisition, and has become a substantial player in France by making several small acquisitions, and Germany would be the logical next market to conquer – and Sage is committed to further growth by acquisition.
