SAGE GROUP PLC ACQUIRES SKY SOFTWARE

By CBR Staff Writer

Ambitious but still privately-held Sage Group Plc, parent of Newcastle-based Sagesoft Ltd, has acquired Sky Software Ltd of Bromsgrove for an undisclosed sum. Sky, in business since 1981, offers the Skybase 4 applications generator and Skymaster 4 suite of accounting modules written in Skybase. Skymaster runs on Xenix and Unix machines and in single and multi-user MS-DOS environments. The new group will have about 120 employees and is looking for something over UKP8m sales in the next 12 months.
