Sagantec Inc, a Milpitas, California-based deep sub micron design software house founded in Israel five years ago, has acquired MicroCAD of Haifa, Israel. MicroCad’s software is used for layout on chip designs of 0.35 micron and below, and changes the shape of and moves wires that are likely to produce crosstalk. The acquisition, on terms that were not disclosed, expands Sagentec’s existing product lines, which include the Dream Design Reenforcement and Migration physical design migration software and Companion design software, which speeds up IP and cell development for users of Cadence Design Systems Inc’s Virtuosoa layout editor. Privately-held Sagantec has around 40 staff.
