Ryanair to accept payments through PayPal

Deal forms part of company-wide improvement program.

By Vinod

Low-cost airline Ryanair has announced a new partnership which will allow its customers to pay for their flights using online service PayPal.

The move will give the airline’s 86m customers, as well as travel agents and companies, with a new way to purchase their flights via the company’s website.

"As the pioneer of faster, safer online payments, PayPal is delighted to help Ryanair develop its customer experience by making it even easier and quicker for travellers to book and pay for their flights online, said Louise Phelan, PayPal’s vice president for global operations in EMEA.

"With our 152 million active accounts across the world, we’re also making it easier for businesses such as Ryanair to expand their international sales."

The deal forms part of Ryanair’s "Always Getting Better" programme, a series of actions carried out by the company to improve its image amongst the public.

As part of the project, the airline has also recently introducing allocated seating, a new website and app, with the new PayPal deal described as "the latest in a long line of Ryanair customer improvements".
