Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway has activated Eclipsys’s electronic medical record system, Sunrise Acute Care.

By replacing disparate systems with an enterprise-wide system, physicians, nurses and other Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Rahway care providers now have access to up-to-date patient electronic medical records (EMR), offering views of clinical data, such as care plans, assessments, and structured notes, helping them to coordinate and communicate as a care team, said Eclipsys.

Eclipsys said that its Remote Hosting supports the whole implementation process and provides a high-performance IT infrastructure, while freeing up scarce floor space and resources for other healthcare operations. Ongoing application management reduces investments in hiring and training resources and simplifies operations, budgeting and strategic decision making.

Kirk Tice, chief executive officer of RWJUH Rahway, said: The activation of Sunrise Acute Care marks an important step in our strategy to integrate patient care onto a single platform and streamline clinical workflows throughout the hospital. Eclipsys has been a great partner, helping us complete the first phase on time and without disruption of service to our patients.
