With Sunrise Acute Care now live, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) caregivers have access to up-to-date health records and unified views of clinical data, helping them better coordinate the complexities of acute care to help improve patient safety and care quality. Physicians also can make informed, timely decisions and clinical teams can deliver integrated care throughout the course of the patient’s treatment.
Sunrise Knowledge-Based Charting will also help RWJUH to facilitate information sharing among clinicians, while providing a foundation for clinical standardization. The solution helps to ensure a consistent documentation methodology that promotes superior care quality by decreasing variability.
Once an order is placed in the Eclipsys computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system, Sunrise Pharmacy enables RWJUH’s pharmacists to electronically review and verify orders to increase medication dispensing safety. In addition, the system will help RWJUH avoid medication errors by offering advanced clinical decision support for checking medication dosages and potential contraindications.
