In a rather peculiar move, since the company is now part of the same alliance earlier granted the only Germany-wide telecommunications infrastructure license, the postal ministry granted RWE Telliance AG a nationwide license. It becomes the second company after partner Vebacom AG to get one. The ministry also granted regional licenses to Frankfurt-based MFS Deutschland GmbH and Darmstadt-based Heag MediaNet GmbH for Metropolitan Area Networks. MFS gets Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart, and Heag gets rights in the region of southern Hesse. The licenses allow the companies to offer leased lines for companies wanting to build internal networks.
