RunRev has said that it will introduce a programming language at its annual developers conference September 1 in Edinburgh, featuring a web-based development tool that can be deployed to browsers on Window, Mac OS X and Linux.

According to RunRev, revolution (Rev 4) enables users to create applications using the platform of their choice and deploy to virtually every desktop computer. The revTalk enables both hobbyist and professional programmers to write applications in less time and with less effort than traditional web development tools.

The company claims that casual users can ramp up quickly while advanced users are expected to save time by writing up to 90% less code than they would in a traditional language.

Kevin Miller, founder and CEO of RunRev, said: “Rev 4 is truly ground-breaking because the same, accessible language can be used wherever users wish to present their work, on web, desktop, and server, replacing an alphabet soup of different languages and conflicting syntax previously required to create full solutions.

“Our new web-based software is designed for those creating both sophisticated software and more straightforward web applications, whether they possess deep programming expertise or are just starting out.”
