Ruckus Wireless has announced its ZoneFlex access point portfolio is now certified under the Microsoft Lync Server Wi-Fi qualification programme.

The qualification ensures that Ruckus customers using Lync and Office 365 will have a high-performing, reliable voice, messaging and video calling experience within their gigabit Wi-Fi environment.

The portfolio includes Ruckus’s ZoneFlex smart Wi-Fi access points, several Ruckus ZoneDirector Wireless LAN controllers, and the Ruckus SmartCell Gateway.

Amer Hassan, Principal GPM of Microsoft Lync Partner Engineering, said: "Ruckus continues to meet growing customer requirements for higher capacity, managed Wi-Fi enabled UC solutions that support the explosion of smart devices connecting to enterprise networks.

"By qualifying Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi with Microsoft Lync, Ruckus is delivering the type of infrastructure needed to help meet growing customer demands for increased unified communications capacity and mobility."

Ruckus says its Smart Wi-Fi access points are integrated with SmartCast technology, which combines scheduling and queuing mechanisms with heuristic algorithms to automatically identify and characterise traffic based on its unique behaviour to help ensure peak performance.

Greg Beach, VP of product management at Ruckus Wireless, said: "Utilising the many capabilities Lync provides with a Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi network infrastructure, we believe enterprises can deliver a very high-quality user experience."
