RSA Data Security Inc announced the commercial availability of its S/PAY 1.0 developer kit for building Secure Electronic Transactions, or SET-based, applications. The engine and developer’s toolkit is designed to allow programmers to build support for a complex security protocol into their products. Trintech Inc, with whom RSA is implementing a pilot with the Bank of Ireland, has used the toolkit to implement an SET module that supports the Microsoft Open Payment Architecture. The company hopes that this integration with the Microsoft Wallet client payment platform will help establish RSA’s SET engine as an industry standard.
