RPI Advanced Technology Group Inc, San Francisco launched Head Mounted Sensory Interface HMSI900 virtual reality glasses which are among the smallest integrated personal simulation glasses. The Model 900 is designed to provide shelf pricing ranging from under $2,000 to $300, depending on accessories and quantities. A fully configured HMSI900 provides lenses, six-axis head tracking and three-dimensional sound. The unit resembles a pair of mirror sunglasses. A proprietary tilt-adjust and headsizing system enables many different user body types to be accommodated. A proprietary semi-transparent front helps eliminate trip and fall safety issues. The firm says helmets, goggles and headstraps are not required to use it. RPI will be targetting major game manufacturers, telecommunications companies, portable computer system company and industrial systems suppliers.
