Royal Free London NHS Trust has gone live with Motion Computing’s latest development Motion C5v Tablet PCs, via Tracline.
Motion Computing is a provider of tablet PCs and supporting mobility applications, while Tracline is a partner of the former company.
Royal Free has been facilitated with 50 tablet PCs, extending the benefits of the Cerner Millennium integrated electronic health record (EHR) system throughout the facility.
The Motion C5v Tablet PCs allow fast data entry directly into the shared EHR system at the patients’ bedsides, eliminating data entry duplication and increasing observation round productivity as well as compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) best practices, said Royal Free.
The C5v Tablet PCs sealed design is cleansed and disinfected with standard cleansers, ensuring compliance with infection control. They also replace heavy trolley-based systems.
The tablet PCs include an integrated smart card reader that enables Royal Free clinicians to have a secure identification process for access to patient data.
The Microsoft Windows-based tablet allows for secure integration with the EHR application and network infrastructure across the hospital.
The tablet PCs use Advanced Technical Support’s ReadyDock docking and charging application.
