Rowland’s chooses from mail order management Options

Clothing retailer Rowland’s Classic Clothing has implemented Options’ mail order and retail systems to manage its mail order and e-commerce sales.

Based on Microsoft Windows platform, Options assists users in data entry and retrieval, and operational compatibility with other Windows business systems.
Options Sales Order Management manages the entry of sales orders and catalogue requests on-line, in batch and from websites. Options Sales Order Entry Summary offers order types, and enables the users determine the form of order entry required and enter multiple orders simultaneously.

Options Mail Order Management System enables Rowland’s call centre agents to process both sales orders and catalogue requests. They can advise the customers regarding the availability of stock, alternatives, complimentary items and delivery dates. Credit card payments can be authorised even while the customer is online.

Rowland’s has developed the retail (EPOS) system in partnership with Options to check availability of items in the company’s central warehouse or in other stores. Integration between the mail order and retail systems enables the shop staff to take a customer order for despatch through the mail order system. Products can be returned and exchanged at any of the mail order or retail sale outlets independent of the original source of the sale.

David Selby, managing director at Rowland’s Classic Clothing, said: “Options provides a well-developed and mature system that meets our requirements. The needs of a retail business are changing all the time and we need to work with a partner that understands this. We worked with Options to develop a system that supports our business now and that can be adapted quickly to meet changes as they happen.”

Chris Andrews, managing director at Options UK, said: “Retailers must not only provide the right stock, but also enable customers to choose how and when they buy — whether in store, on line or through the more traditional mail order catalogue. With Options we have a system that supports multi-channel enterprises successfully now and equips them to meet new challenges.”

Options’ customers include clothing retailer Charles Tyrwhitt, home accessories and clothing supplier The White Company, organic seeds supplier Chase Organics, and healthcare technology provider Vitalia Health.
