OJSC Rostelecom (Rostelecom-SOUTH), a Rostelecom’s organisation department operating in Russia’s Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts, has deployed Alcatel-Lucent‘s IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to introduce advanced voice, data, video and multimedia services to subscribers and ensure a quality experience.

Alcatel-Lucent IMS offering converges media over a common IP platform, providing a seamless network by which the operator can deliver rich broadband services to consumers and enterprises anywhere, anytime and over any device.

Rostelecom-SOUTH leveraged Alcatel-Lucent’s IMS offering to migrate its existing fixed network to an IP-based architecture that provides VoIP and other advanced media services, while also simplifying operations and lowering costs.

Alcatel-Lucent EMEA president Adolfo Hernandez said by deploying their IMS offering, Rostelecom-SOUTH gets a future-proof, all-IP network technology that will ensure it can deliver the advanced broadband services consumers and business users demand today and will be seeking tomorrow.

"The deployment of Alcatel-Lucent’s offering ensures a superior customer experience by coupling network intelligence with web application innovation while driving profits by optimising costs and service delivery," Hernandez said.
