Ross Systems Inc, Palo Alto, California supplier of DEC VAX financial management and accounting software, has signed a letter of intent to acquire Cardinal Data Corp, Needham Heights, Massachusetts: the target specialises in distribution software and provides consulting services, and the two companies established a marketing relationship two years ago, teaming in sales situations where a combination of their products provided comprehensive customer solutions; Ross Systems was formed in a management buyout in November last year, and now wants to grow fast by acquisition and by international expansion, partnerships with vertical and cross industry market leaders and by enhancement of its product line.
