IBM’s Rolm Corp, Santa Clara, California, has integrated its PhoneMail system with Northern Telecom Inc’s Meridian SL-1 private branch exchange: PhoneMail Integration for SL-1 systems provides automatic telephone answering with multiple personal greetings, message notification, and other integrated features to subscribers on the SL-1 system; Rolm also announced PhoneMail Call Processing, which allows callers to use menus of options to reach specific extensions or information mailboxes; PhoneMail Integration for SL-1 systems will be available in the second quarter of 1988, and prices start at $2,000 while PhoneMail Call Processing is available now at no additional charge on new PhoneMail systems.
