Commenting on the company’s sluggish third quarter figures, management at Scottish Winchester manufacturer Rodime Plc of Glenrothes, Fife says that despite the availability of manufacturing capacity, turnover of $29.9m in the quarter was virtually unchanged from the previous year (see Company Results, P3); a spokesman claimed this was well below expectations and blamed a shortage of components for restricted production: the company is also experiencing problems at its low cost manufacturing centre in Singapore, where it has had to support a number of long term, low price contracts at a time when it has yet to reach necessary output levels, thus depressing margins.
