Rockwell Switching Systems Ltd, part of the Switching Systems Division that parent Rockwell International Corp was intending to sell off until a change of heart earlier this year, has announced a call centre software application, SimpliCTI. SimpliCTI is intended for call centres with up to 50 representatives, or as a pilot application in larger companies, and is described as a cost-effective and simple way to implement basic inbound and outbound and call transfer functionality. The firm adds that, as it is compatible with its larger computer telephony integration servers, the system can grow with the user. Features included in the offering number Direct Dial In and Calling Line Identification, a screen synchronisation facility to present product and service information at the agent terminal at the same time as incoming calls, and a call transfer facility, enabling calls and data to be transferred between call handlers. In addition, says the firm, an enhanced dialling feature supports speed dialling and preview dialling from the workstation. The offering supports up to 50 call handlers and runs on any 80486 or Pentium personal computer, and can operate as a computer telephony integration server on Ethernet or Token Ring local area networks, enabling it to function in conjunction with the call centre host via a local area network. The application is shipping now but no prices were given.
