ROCHESTER TELEPHONE IS HAVING TO RESORT TO EVER LARGER SCALE MAPS TO FIND THE LOCATIONS OF SOME OF ITS NEWEST TARGETS

In its quest to grow much bigger by buying tiny local telephone companies, Rochester Telephone Co, Rochester, New York is having to resort to ever larger scale maps to find the locations of some of its newest targets, and it has now got down to towns so obscure that one wonders whether even their residents have ever heard of them: its latest letter of intent to acquire is with DePue Telephone Co of DePue, Illinois, which has a mere 554 shares outstanding; acquisition will be by a share swap on undisclosed terms.
