Doris Bencsik has been acting chief executive of Datapoint Corp for nearly a year now, but the San Antonio, Texas company has gone outside for a permanent chief: it has headhunted Robert Potter from his post as a group vice-president at Northern Telecom Inc to become its new chief executive and Ms Bencsik gets chief operating officer.
