RoadComm has launched a LifeInPocket mobile suite to RIM’s BlackBerry smartphones, which will upgrade the smartphones with an array of functionality including GPS, navigation, actionable location messaging, local listing/reviews, satellite map, street view, cheap gas finder, news, video, traffic, Twitter, emails, yellow/white pages, and real-time information and services.
According to RoadComm, the new suite offers location messaging service powered with navigation and other GPS-based services with turn-by-turn navigation prompts with voice guidance. Utilising synced address book, BlackBerry address book and its online trip-planning tool, LifeInPocket Navigation application eliminates typing on tiny keyboards.
The company said that the new mobile suite includes cross-platform and cross-network instant location messaging, family/friends locator and a host of related and social functions using phones or PCs. It enables address book sync/import with web address books. Users can click on those synced contacts to call, to mail and to navigate via their phones using LifeInPocket address book or BlackBerry address book.
In addition to maps, weather, PIM, traffic report, parking, roadside assistance and WiFi hotspots, the LifeInPocket application offers a GPS/address-based directory with points of interest and POI database, RoadComm added.
