RIKEI MARKETS NEW DRIVES IN ITS HDU SERIES

Rikei Co has developed and begun marketing new drives in its HDU series of fixed disk units which are designed for use with DEC’s MicroVAX family: the new HDU 53 series uses 305Mb 5.25 Winchesters and the HDU 87 series uses 573Mb 8 drives: the company looks to sell 130 of the subsystems in the first year at $17,000 for the HDU 53, and from $30,866 to $60,000 for the HDU 87 subsystems.
