Semantic software tools provider for data virtualisation, Revelytix has released Spyder 1.0, a free software tool, that exposes any data store as a SPARQL 1.1 end point.
Using the federation capabilities of SPARQL 1.1, any collection of SPARQL 1.1 end points can be queried as a single set of data.
Spyder is a component of the Revelytix Distributed Information Management system which supports Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Excel, flat files and other data types.
The new release allows companies to implement semantic data integration offerings without impacting systems running business-critical functions and lets enterprises select from a range of customised Support Agreements.
Running as a standalone server, Spyder offers disk-buffered memory management, parallel query processing framework, open source protocol for high speed transfers of query results, R2RML support, centralised, ticketed help desk support and optimised to work with Spinner, the Revelytix SPARQL query processor.
Revelytix CEO Michael Lang said the client-server RDBMS paradigm has served Revelytix well for the past forty years.
"The data management tools for the next forty years are here today. The Distributed Information Management System is the new paradigm and Spyder 1.0 is a key piece," said Lang.
