Semiconductor prices should remain firm this summer for 1M-bit DRAMs despite recent increases in production, says Reuters: Japan’s chip makers, including Toshiba Corp, NEC Corp, Hitachi Ltd and Mitsubishi Electric Corp, have had to boost output to meet a growing demand for memory chips, but chip makers and industry analysts in Tokyo are convinced that memory prices will remain steady at the 950 yen – $6.20 – mark for all large-volume buyers.
