AT&T’s Unix Software Operation has signed with Retix Inc, the Santa Monica, California-based Open Systems Interconnection internetworking company, for the two to integrate their current open systems technologies and develop future products based on those technologies. The Retix product line will be integrated with the Unix System V Streams operating environment via AT&T’s OSI Communications Platform CP-1. The first product born from this alliance will be launched early in 1991 and will be compatible with Unix System V.3 and above. Hitherto, TCP/IP has been used to satisfy US Government communications requirements and the new products will offer migration from TCP/IP to OSI.
