Undaunted by its ignominious exist from the European market after the failure of its joint venture with Ing C Olivetti & Co SpA in the mid-1980s, Tempe, Arizona-based retailer MicroAge Computer Centers Inc is set to try again, this time with thrusting Paris distributor Metrologie International SA as its partner. After having to sell the small UK chain it established by buying up local firms, MicroAge is not ready to re-enter the British market, but has reached agreement in principle with Metrologie for a joint venture to establish a MicroAge network of computer resellers across continental Europe. Metrologie now operates in eight European countries, including the UK. Further details will be given once a definitive agreement is reached.
