RESEARCH MACHINES TIES UP A TWO-PART DEAL WITH MICROSOFT

Oxford-based Research Machines Ltd has tied up a two-part deal with Microsoft which enables it to bundle Windows 2 and Excel with its educational network systems; the company, which has existing agreements covering Microsoft’s Word and Multiplan packages, has also secured right to offer stand-alone software discounts to educationalists with IBM-compatible systems: under the discount Word and Excel are reduced from UKP395 to UKP158.
