By CBR Staff Writer

Relay Communications Ltd of Slough, Berkshire has two new mainframe software packages, Relay/MV and Relay/TSO, which support data transfer between remote personal computers and mainframes. The packages, for VM and MVS mainframes respectively, are designed to support an unlimited number of personal computers running the company’s Relay Gold; the company – which launched the packages at this year’s Which Computer? Show – claims that the system’s data compression algorithm compresses data by up to 400%. Prices range from UKP5,500 for VM to UKP8,000 for MVS mainframes.
