RedPrairie has acquired Shippers Commonwealth (ShipComm), provider of SaaS transportation management system (TMS) and collaborative transportation services.
The company said the acquisition adds SaaS TMS offering and client hosting programs to its productivity suite, making RedPrairie the only software company with a complete suite for TMS, WMS, and Workforce Management programs for enterprise operations of all sizes and levels of complexity.
RedPrairie CEO Mike Mayoras said the merger will expand the presence and responsiveness of the company to the needs of the TMS marketplace in their On-Demand offerings.
ShipComm CEO and founder Bob Shagawat said the two companies joining forces formally is a natural evolution of their successful partnership since 2000.
Shagawat added, "They [the companies] will continue to provide cutting-edge programs of the highest quality and most advanced functionality to our current customers, as well as progressive shippers joining our growing family of clients."
