Red Pepper Software Co, two-year old developer of real time planning and scheduling software for manufacturing companies, is hitching onto Oracle Corp to help develop and sell its flagship ResponseAgent. ResponseAgent began a beta test run last spring at Cisco Systems Inc after 18 months of development; it has now being used by 3Com Corp and will soon be used by Sun Microsystems Inc. The agreement calls for joint technical planning between the companies. Red Pepper, based in Mountain View, California, says it thinks that, in addition to helping both companies on the technical end, the deal will also give Oracle sales people the confidence to recommend ResponseAgent without fearing it comes from a bunch of bozos working out of a garage.
