Red Hat subs grow in Q3

Red Hat has seen subscription revenues surge in its third fiscal quarter, turning in results that showed both overall revenues and income leaping on the previous year.

The Linux distributor turned in overall revenues of $50.9 million, up 55% on the year. Net income came in at $10.8 million, up 155% on the year.

Subscription revenues were $39.2 million, up 80% on the year. These were dominated by enterprise revenues, which hit $38.1 million, up from $17.2 million last year. However, retail revenues were just $512,000, compared to $4.1 million a year ago.

For the year to date, revenues stand at $139 million, compared to $88 million a year ago. Net income so far stands at $33.6 million, compared to last year’s $8.9 million.
