Red Hat has announced the general availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 6.
The platform will feature updates that are designed to serve as the foundation for building OpenStack powered clouds for enterprise businesses with advanced cloud users, telecommunications companies, internet service providers and public cloud hosting providers.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform integrates Red Hat’s OpenStack technology with the security and stability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, with the platform putting interoperability and ease of use as its two most important features.

Updates to Red Hat’s intuitive graphical installer and management tools aim to create greater efficiency and to reduce the complexities of a cloud deployment.
The platform is based on the OpenStack Juno release and will include several new features which are also aimed at easing enterprise deployments of OpenStack technology within existing datacentres.
Specific capabilities include those aimed at telecommunications providers to enable Network Functions Virtualisation deployments among carriers.
Included are: IPv6 support, Neutron High Availability, Single root I/O virtualisation (SR-IOV) networking, support for Multi-LDAP backends, full support for data processing, deeper Ceph integration and new tech preview features.
