Red Hat integrates SAP applications as part of JBoss Way

The integration is expected to enhance the developer productivity

By CBR Staff Writer

Open source applications provider Red Hat has introduced new integration capabilities for SAP applications as part of The JBoss Way for development of applications in a simpler way.

The integration, which is done via SAP NetWeaver Gateway technology, is expected to enhance the interoperability between Red Hat and SAP applications, the company said.

SAP NetWeaver Gateway technology provides a simple way to connect devices, environments and platforms to SAP software based on open standards.

The integration offers connectivity to SAP applications using any programming language or model without the need for knowledge of SAP applications by leveraging REST services and OData and/or ATOM protocols.

In addition, the integration also claimed to make it easy to consume SAP application data and business processes from Red Hat’s JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform, JBoss Enterprise Data Services Platform or JBoss Enterprise Application Platform.

JBoss Way encompasses a new set of frameworks, tools and architectural designs focused on improving developer productivity in building modern applications for mobile, the cloud and more.

Red Hat Middleware vice president and general manager Craig Muzilla said: "The aim of this integration is a more intelligent, integrated enterprise — one that can maximize the value of data assets and accelerate business decisions."
